State of Development

State of Development Monday April 30, 2012

By Your ever lasting Community Manager and over all 1001101010010101 evangelist.

Greetings All,

It has been a very busy last couple of months for us on the team. We've made great strides in adapting and working with the BigWorld engine, which has given us greater creative freedom on the project as well as well as a better tool set to utilize. Another worthy note to mention is our recent team members that we've added to our ever growing worldwide team. They include various positions from dedicated Modellers, Graphic Artists, Sound Engineers and of course those code junkies we call Programmers.

We are currently gearing up for our first ever Trailer Reveal that is due to be out around this upcoming early May. This has far been a grand undertaking on our part and an even larger accomplishment to our team with their undying dedication and loyalty. It's of even greater purpose to note, that our community that has stood by us patiently for so long, will finally see the fruit of their feedback and expectations.

So without further ado, here is an outline of and on things to come.

Gameplay Trailer Reveal of Epic 'Proportions'

The trailer we are focusing on releasing will tease various features of combat and finally be showing off a taste of just what the world building experience will be like. Not to mention, we will be tossing in some of those other features you all have been dying to see and have been asking for.

Another message we want to express to our fans, is that we are gearing up to start releasing information on a more consistent basis to further expand upon, just what the Origins of Malu project really is.

Graphics Update or What We Like to Call 'Eye Candy' Progression

We are getting ready to update our rendering again to further improve the overall graphical quality of the game. We are done with most of the implementation of art assets to the new engine. There is still a good bit of room left for us to improve upon, but we are confident in the new direction we are taking.

Game Mechanics...Now with More Wheels

We have been hard at work on growing and expanding the current Housing System and also the Sky Building System so we can further showcase on how unique it is and just what new experiences it can offer and ultimately deliver to players.

Another aspect that we heavily dedicated to delivering is the Dynamic Territory System (DTS for short). You can, as of now, build your own unique and varied housing structures, be it by generalized sections or take the more unique and customized approached of brick by brick so to speak.

We are also working with the skill sets for the Jolah and Qulinta, which we will release a more in depth preview giving more detailed information and what kind of the talents you can expect for these races.

We maintain that this is a classless game, however we felt that some talents and skills should be more unique and offer a different approach when choosing and growing ones character.

Social Activeness..wait..what? Viva Le Revolution!

We plan to have the community be an integral part of the project because at the end of the day, it's fans and the community like you that keep us going.

We will be focusing on establishing a clear channel of communication between the community and straight to the developers, cause come on...sometimes those guys play way too many Magic the Gathering games in the break room. Back to WORK!

We will be releasing some more developer videos so everyone can have a better sense of just what we are working on and a better perspective on the project from various team members who have been key to the development of this project.

We'll also touch base on our approach and just what has been driving us, and the team, to develop and continuously push this project forward regardless of the walls we run into.

We really want to reach out to the Community and earn their respect and acknowledgement for this project, because we are not just some 'X' studio trying to make a quick buck here by promising the world and spouting the regular PR babble that we have all come to expect.

We are gamers just like you, and only trying to make something that you want to play, we want to play and sure as hell your friends will play.

Peace out,

- Darkis, Community Manager
